Обязательный пробел в словосочетаниях, которые по правилам нельзя разрывать на разные строчки. Например, если словосочетание "глава 2" попадет на конец строки, то текстовый процессор может разделить его на две части, оставив "глава" в первой строке, а "2" перенеся на следующую. Чтобы этого не происходило, в программах верстки и текстовых процессорах предусмотрен специальный символ неразрывного пробела, при использовании которого такие словосочетания будут на одной строке.
